Our Artist of the Month (AOTM)… introducting: “LO”

Essntial: Tell us a little about your sound and how you developed it?

LO: It’s always a bit hard to describe your own sound but I would say it’s a mixture of Deep House / Chill House with Organic Elements. Since I’m a drummer I put a lot of focus on the percussion/drums programming, which is also something people say they love in my productions…

Essntial: If you could give one piece of advice to an aspiring artist what would it be?

LO: You don’t need any preset or sample pack that’s on the market to create a great production. I feel like it can sometimes even be overwhelming if you got a harddrive full of sounds and presets…Start with one or two packs that you like and really dig through the sounds, find some favourites and tweak them…

Essntial: Where are you based and why do you live there?

LO: I’m based in Berlin. I guess about the history of Berlin’s electronic music scene I don’t have to say that much. Besides London I would say it’s the spot to be in Europe if you’re into electronic music.

Essntial: What is the one instrument / plugin that you can’t Iive without?

LO: It might be a pretty boring answer, but I love UADs plugin versions of the 1176 and the LA-2A
